Managing Market Action
Selecting Transactions>Market Actions from the menu shows a grid of all the accounts that have balancing entries. The Transactions column gives the total number of balancing entries for the particular account and Status. Profiles can be saved to allow the user to customise their view according to Account, Status or any other field.
Clicking on the number in the Transactions column will take the user to a screen showing the detail of all the balancing entries for the account.
From this screen the user can click on the Recon ID to view all the entries that were part of the match that generated the balancing entry. An additional column on this screen is 'Balancing Entry Type'. This screen also shows the latest imported price, the date of the price and a proposed price. The proposed price is the latest price multiplied by the ‘Price Increase Percentage For Market Action’ value. This value can be found in the Setup>Preferences screen. 'Allow Editing of Proposed Units for Market Action' is toggled to determine whether or not the users can amend the Unit value calculated by Moorgate.
Select the transactions you want to action. Moorgate applies the Proposed Price (latest price available) and price increase percentage set to the units to calculate the Proposed Amount. A positive value is a purchase (must always be an amount) and a negative value is a Repurchase (can be traded as an amount or units)
Two market actions now have a state of Initiated and ready to be placed in the market.
A Manager (role assigned on the User screen) can authorise any 'Initiated' Market Actions. Any external system which then processes the MA's can select the authorised actions and update them to 'Submitted'. Once the transactions in the MA have been reconciled the status is updated to 'Completed'.
